The DURAG-SMITSVONK ignition system operates on a low-voltage, high-energy ignition principle, delivering reliable ignition even under harsh conditions. It generates powerful sparks with 16 Joules of energy at a frequency of 3 sparks per second (3 Hz). The system is unaffected by moisture, dirt, oil, or aggressive gases. It uses a thyristor-controlled capacitor discharge design, ensuring maintenance-free operation and safe ignition over long distances (up to 300 m)
