GESTRA LRGS 15-1 surface blowdown electrode is specifically used to monitor and control the quality of boiler water in steam boilers. GESTRA LRGS 15-1 is a conductivity switch with a compact design. It consists of a conductivity measuring electrode and a switching device integrated into the electrode's terminal box. The electrode measures the electrical conductivity in the boiler water based on the conductometric measuring principle. This conductivity value is an indicator of the total salt content (TDS) of the boiler water.

When the measured conductivity reaches or exceeds a pre-set limit value, the LRGS 15-1 sends a signal via a potential-free relay contact. This signal typically causes an automatic blowdown valve (e.g., GESTRA BAE 46) to open and discharge boiler water. When the conductivity falls to the desired level, the valve closes. The LRGS 15-1 features temperature compensation to ensure that temperature changes do not affect the conductivity measurement. The electrode, made of corrosion-resistant stainless steel, ensures long-lasting and reliable operation. It offers a simple and effective solution for facilities without a PLC control panel.
