GRECON FM 3/8 Funkenmelder (Spark Detector) is used in GreCon's fire prevention and extinguishing systems, specifically for detecting sparks and glowing embers in industrial processes with high temperatures. The "FM 3/8" series is designed for applications where temperatures can reach up to 600°C. This is crucial in places where high heat is unavoidable and other detectors would not withstand, such as drying ovens, hot air lines, furnace outlets, milling, and conveying systems. Primary areas of use include the woodworking, textile, paper, recycling, food processing, and chemical industries. The detector operates by transmitting light signals (infrared radiation emitted by sparks) via fiber optic cables to the sensor unit, allowing the detector itself to be mounted in a cooler area.

GRECON FM 3/8 Funkenmelder is an infrared detector with fiber optic connection, designed for reliable spark detection in high-temperature environments. This detector is optimized for use where processing or drying temperatures can exceed 600°C. The detection principle relies on transmitting infrared radiation from sparks to three separate photo-optic diodes within the detector via three individual stainless steel-covered glass fiber optic cables. This use of three detection elements ensures high detection reliability. The detector performs best in dark areas with no or minimal ambient light, as it is insensitive to daylight or artificial light. A detected spark or hot particle signal is transmitted to the connected GreCon control panel, automatically initiating fire extinguishing or prevention measures.
